Old school diner, next to modern day Sonic (reminded me of the juxtaposition of the Disney CARS movie). Being from a small town ourselves, we try and support local businesses whenever possible. Wonderful staff, who were kind and courteous. Good sized menu, with a self serve all-you-can-eat soup/salad bar. I asked about the history of the restaurant, as you can tell the interior is outdated, and was introduced to the owner. A sweet lady, who said her sons now run the day-to-day operations, since her spouse passed away. The restaurant has been in their family for 42 years, but with all the new businesses, is not sure how much longer she will be able to keep the doors open. When visiting and enjoying all the sights and adventures this town has to offer, slow down a little and support a local business.

The dinner was awful! The chicken fried steak tastes like water. Never going there again

Old school (former drive-in) restaurant across the street from the new school Sonic drive-in. I prefer old school any day. We had good breakfast service (even though it was busy and we were a table of 7). Definitely inexpensive as you can get a bacon & egg sandwich with hash browns for $6. It's been a while since I've seen prices like that. The food arrived quickly as well. If you like diner-style food, it's definitely worth a visit.

I was recently in Colorado for business. I had some free time over one weekend and was headed to ride ATV's with my fiance. We were both hungry and saw this place on the way. We decided to stop in and try it. First the place feels like you stepped back into the 1960's. It kind of reminds you of a place in the movie Cars. The food was great. It was home cooked food. I had the fried chicken and it was so good. They have a variety of homemade desserts. I would certainly recommend this place.

Big enough to accommodate a healthy lunch crowd. I think it used to be a drive in back in the day. Fairly dated interior but in a charming way. Waitress has been great - lets see about the food now The food was ok. Not bad, not fabulous. My companion had the open face roast beef and the meat looked like deli roast beef sliced thin on two pieces of white bread, not toasted, with fake masters. I had the torpedo sandwich ... italian sausage with melted provolone. Again, pretty good. As far as diners go, it wasnt bad ... service was good and the price was right.

Great breakfast! Their cinnamon rolls are a must! We've stopped here for breakfast on our way home from Colorado for years and it's been good every time. Sausage gravy and homemade biscuits are great too!!! Coffee is on the weak side~ only complaint.

service was friendly, but not very good. The coffee tasted like dirty water. The redeeming quality for 5 his restaurant is the food. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was amazing (pork green chili)! As a total dining experience, I give it 3 stars. If I could get a breakfast burrito to go, I'd make it 5 stars!

I had a burger with green chillies on it . Nummy! Came with lettuce tomato onion and pickles. Crispy fries and good service. Glad we stopped

Mr. Ed's...where you find vinyl booths, cups turned upside down ready for use, old timer's swapping stories, and "basted" eggs in lieu of "poached." Nice slice of ham with the eggs, buttered wheat toast, HB's and diner coffee for $6.75. The bacon is crisp & non-greasy...thanks Chef! Supporting local business should be a priority for all of us and you can't go wrong with Mr. Ed's!

+: the food was cheap +: we didn't have to wait for a table for 9 people -: we changed the order on one person's food and the waitress applied it to all orders of the same type of food, costing us more money, but blaming it on the person who made the chan

Excellent breakfast. I loved the green chile smothered omellette. Good service. Just a good all-around family diner. Takes you back to the good old days.

One of the reviews was correct in is a local dive. But for the price the food is pretty darn good. One of my favs is the hot roast beef sandwich also the liver & onions is pretty good and hard to find on menus these days. No the salad bar isn't fancy but it comes with the meal as well as soup, veg. soup is great. In my opinion it is the best bang for your buck in Canon City and yes I live here.

Time we went - 4pm approximately Sat ourselves Definitely a locals' dive. Career servers Dinner - Meatloaf, corn and mashed potatoes. Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and corn. Both came with the soup and salad bar. Salad bar: mixed lettuce, dill pickles, baby corn, mushrooms, bacon bits, pasta salad, macaroni salad. Yes, I did not mention the standard crappy- salad -bar items of tomatoes and cucumbers. I guess they were replaced with baby corn and mushrooms??? Soup - potato and cheese. We got the ass end of the soup. Rolls - dry, dusty. The reason I am giving this place three stars is because of the actual dinners - they were good.
